Diamine Glass-Bottled Inks 80ml

Sale Price:£5.00 Original Price:£6.25

High quality British fountain pen ink, which tends not to bleed or feather and many of the shades have lovely noticeable tones and shading as you write. Now located in Liverpool, the history of Diamine production dates back to 1864.

The textured glass bottle is a beautiful item to have on your desk and the generous 80ml will last you a really long time.

Suitable for all fountain pens.

You can use these with your Kaweco Sport pen with a converter.

Using DIP PENS with Diamine: As a rule, fountain pen inks are tricky to use with dip pens as they are thinner and therefore flow out of a dip pen nib a little too quickly. That being said, depending on the paper the Diamine inks are surprisingly useable with a bit of practise, as you can see in the colour chart where I have used a Zebra G dip pen nib (on cotton paper). The Jet Black in particular is actually a very lovely ink to use as is with a dip pen. You will find the coloured inks much easier to control and less blobby and scratchy though if you seperate some ink and add a little Gum Arabic powder, which thickens the ink and makes it much more dip pen friendly. (Don’t use Gum Arabic with a fountain pen though as it may damage the pen) you can then enjoy that multi-tonal ‘watercolour’ appearance you get from calligraphy ink, but with a dip pen!
