Kaweko Sport Fountain Pen - Macchiato
Kaweko Sport Fountain Pen - Macchiato
In the 1930s Kaweco created the Sport line of neat and sturdy hexagonal pens which became an enduring classic.
There’s something about writing in proper ink with a fountain pen that feels special, loosens up your writing and makes even the most mundane notes beautiful.
My favourite pen to write with is my Fine macchiato Kaweko, for it’s crispness. However I also adore the slightly faster ink flow of the medium nib, which brings out the ink’s various tones even more and has a lovely wetness.
The extra fine nib gives a delicate and refined edge to your handwriting. Even though it is beautifully fine, the flow is excellent and smooth. It is ideal if you like writing small; something that can be useful when making small notes, or fitting a longer message into a card. The ink may show as slightly darker and more uniform than with thicker nibs.
If you like to write quickly, have a light touch or have larger handwriting you may prefer the fine or medium nib which offers a little more ink flow, and a slightly thicker line. It also offers more of those beautiful inky tonal values associated with using a fountain pen, bringing out the shading in coloured inks.Colours:
- Timeless Classic Black with gold finish for a Mad Men era office-desk vibe
- Elegant white with silver for the minimalist
- Beautifully classic Bordeaux
- and my favourite dusky pink Macchiato - a feminine shade that I love seeing on my desk
Each pen comes boxed, with a standard blue Kaweco ink cartridge to get you going, but you can use any universal 38mm size ink cartridges, including the beautiful Herbin inks.
The Kaweko pens can also be used with bottled fountain pen inks such as Daimine, using the specially engineered Kaweko converter.
